Artha Mae Williams

Marlow: Artha Mae Williams, 91, Marlow, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2007 in Marlow.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 3, 2007, at the First Baptist Church in Marlow, with Dr. Joe Ligon & Jim Spurlock officiating. Burial will be in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.

Artha was born Monday, August 16, 1915 in Gordonville, Texas, to the late Tom and the late Rosa (Steward) Brock. Artha graduated high school in Gordonville, TX. She married Earl McConnell in 1933 in Texas, he passed away in 1949. On July 17, 1957 she married Stonewall Williams in Vernon, TX. He also preceded her in death on Aug. 9, 1975. She retired as a LPN. She worked for Duncan Hospital and Marlow Elementary School. Artha loved being with her church family and cooking supper for her children and grandchildren. She loved running around with the girls, as she called them and working in the yard. She loved the smell of dirt and how it felt in her hands as she worked in the flower beds. Artha was a member of the Silvertones, Senior Adult Choir and the First Baptist Church in Marlow.

Her survivors include, Son, Tommy McConnell & wife Linda of Dallas, TX; 2 Daughters, Mary McCord of Duncan, OK, Linda Kay Palmer of Duncan, OK; 5 Grandchildren, Kelly & Jeff Brown of Velma, OK, Ricky & Shannon McCord of Velma, OK, Dane Ray & Tammi Palmer of Duncan, OK, Chris & Mindy Palmer of Ponca City, OK, Nicolle & Tim Taylor of Houston, TX; 10 Great-Grandchildren, Riki McCord, Rylan & Harper McCord, Shelby & Jake Brown, Nicholas Palmer, Dace Palmer, Amanda Palmer, Calee Palmer, Danika Thomas, Christopher Harrell, Hunter Taylor; Sister, Pauline Armstrong of Collinsville, TX; Several Nieces & Nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Husbands; Daughter, Earline McConnell; Son, Billy Don McConnell; Grandson, Lance McConnell; Parents; Brother, Floyd Brock; 2 Sisters, Eura Cook, Hassie Ramsey and 1 Son-in-law, Richard McCord.

Pallbearers will be Ricky McCord, Dane Palmer, Chris Palmer, Christopher Harrell, Nick Palmer and Hunter Taylor. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Hollard, Ken Layn, Jimmie Taylor, Gene Brown and Jeff Brown.

MARLOW — Artha Mae Williams, 91, of Marlow, passed away Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007, in Marlow.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church of Marlow with Dr. Joe Ligon and Jim Spurlock officiating. Burial will be in Marlow Cemetery under direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home.

Bearers will be Ricky McCord, Dane Palmer, Chris Palmer, Christopher Harrell, Nick Palmer and Hunter Taylor.
