Archie met Reba Pauline in West Virginia while he was serving a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After his mission, they were married. She wanted to remain in West Virgina, but the only jobs there for Archie was working in the coal mines. He tried that for a while, but could not endure working there. He moved back to Arizona but Reba stayed in West Virginia, and they divorced. Archie was re-married to someone with several children.
