which Archibald is this: Evening Post, Volume XC, Issue 25, 29 July 1915, Page 2 BREACH OF GAMING LAWS (BY TELEGRAPH— PRESS ASSOCIATION.) CHRISTCHURCH, 28th July. At the Magistrate's Court to-day Archibald Malloch was charged with making a bet on 8th July on the result of the Seadown Handicap at the Timaru Trots. Witness in his evidence said he gave the accused 10s for a bet at tote odds. The horse won, but he got no dividend. Defendant gave evidence that he had only acted as agent, and had meant to give the money to a bookmaker, but forgot. The police said that Malloch was reputed to to a bookmaker. He was fined £5, with costs. References
