Fountain Inn, SC- Arbutis Bowyer Hurd, 91, formerly of Maple Fork, died Thursday June 20, 2002, at Fountain Inn Nursing Home following a long illness. Born Jan 1, 1911, at Maple Fork, she was the daughter of the late Elbert and Eliza Tyree Bowyer. Mrs. Hurd was a homemaker and a member of Maple Valley Baptist Church. She was also preceeded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Hurd; a daughter, Joyce Evelyn Ketron; two brothers, Luther E. Bowyer and Hubert Bowyer; and three sisters, Hazel Bowyer Elkins, Alice Bowyer Crafton and Myrtle Bowyer Agnor. Survivors include a son, Edward Hurd of North Royalton, Ohio; a daughter, Elizabeth Maynor of Charlotte, NC; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Service will be 1 p.mp. Sunday at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope, with the Rev. Steve Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.mp. today at the funeral home. Arrangements by Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope.
