"Nouguier, Anthony. In 1705 he entered on Fairfield records his naturalization papers, showing that he became a British subject, 22 June 1694, certified at London the following 11 July. Merchant and money lender of Fairfield; d. at Fairfield, 23 Oct. 1740 in 86 yr. (g.s.). He m. (1) Jane -----, who d. 24 Oct. 1739 in 87 yr. (g. s.). He m. (2) Sarah, widow successively of Ephraim Wheeler and Benjamin Fairweather, and dau. of Capt. Matthew Sherwood; b. abt. 1676, d. at Stratfield, 25 May 1743 in 67 yr. (g. s.). Will 7 Oct. 1740, proved 6 Nov. 1740; to wife, Sarah, all estate for life, and service of negro servant Elizabeth, also absolutely £3,000 of debts due me by bonds; to Yale College, £150; to Fairfield Church, £200, Rev. Noah Hobart to have use of it; to Public School in First Society, £150; to friend, Capt. Thomas Hill, my homestead after my wife's death; to French Church in Boston, £100; to the poor of Fairfield, £150; negro servant Elizabeth to be free after wife's death; servant girl Ann to be free at 18, and to have £100; to cousin, Mr. Daniel Aurault of Newport, R. I., the residue. Daniel Ayrault was son of a Huguenot refugee. Dr. Pierre Ayrault, and cousin of Dr. Nicholas Ayrault of Wethersfield [see 'Ancestry of William Francis Joseph Boardman (1906), pp. 109-113]. The wife of Pierre was prob.
