Captain Anthony Collamore lost his life by shipwreck in a snowstorm in 1693. His body was recovered several days afterwards and he was buried in the First Parish Cemetery in Scituate.

His ship sunk on a ledge that is now known as Collamore's Ledge (http://www.topozone.com/map.asp?lon=-70.7467086&lat=42.2478789&datum=nad83)

His descendants include 2 US Presidents: William Henry Harrison and Benjamin Harrison.

  On the rocks near Scituate shore, since known as Collamore's Ledge, the Captain lost his life by shipwreck in a snow storm in 1693. His body was recovered several days afterwards, and he was buried under arms in the First Parish Cemetery at Scituate Harbor.
  The stone marking his grave is located about two rods northeasterly from the Monument to the Men of Kent, on the south side of Meeting-House Lane. The estate of Captain Anthony Collamore (he left no will) was administered by Sarah, his widow, and Peter, his only surviving son. The children mentioned in the division of the estate were Mary, the wife of Robert Stetson, and her sisters, Sarah, Martha, and Elizabeth.
