    HARMONY - Mrs. Annie Ben Coulter, 94, of 179 Arrowbrook Road died at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, 1994. She had been in declining health for several years.
    She was formerly a resident of 205 Sunset Drive, Greensboro, from 1937-1985. She was born in Elon College, on April 5, 1900, the daughter of the late Dr. William Samuel Long Jr. and Mrs. Allene Bell Long. She grew up in Graham, where Dr. Long practiced dentistry. She moved to Burlington when she married William Summey Coulter, a founder, vice president, and general counsel of Burlington Industries, on Feb. 23, 1921. She was a widow, Mr. Coulter having died on May 11, 1975. In 1985, she moved to the home of her son, William H. Coulter in Harmony.
    She was an alumna of Meredith College, Raleigh, and of North Carolina College for Women, Greensboro, now the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Greensboro, serving on the altar guild and the Women's Auxiliary Chapter of Saint Hilda. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Guilford Battle Chapter. She was a member of the Greensboro Country Club, and also of the Greensboro Legal Auxiliary. She was a life member of the Historical Book Club of North Carolina, and of the Greensboro Preservation Society.
    She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Ann Coulter Wiss of Short Hills, N.J.; her son, William Herbert Coulter of Harmony; ten grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Minnie L. Ward of Davidson, and Mrs. Mattie Morris of Durham. Her other daughter, Mrs. Catherine Coulter Hattaway, preceded her in death in 1976.
    Memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m., Nov. 12 at Holy Trinity Church, Greensboro.
