Anna E died in 1905; the Bath Independent obituary for Mrs. Anna E Scott, wife of Fred B Scott says Anna E was the daughter of Mrs. John Deering and the late Sylvester Marr.

"She was born in this city and was aged 49 years 8 months...She was employed for about ten years as clerk in the dry goods store of H. E. Palmer on Center street and in that position endeared herself to hundreds. She was a member of the Bath School Board from Ward One and an earnest and careful thinker on subjects which arose. She was a member of Myrtle lodge, Odd Ladies; and one of the lodge's most faithful workers, and has been an officer. She was an attendant of the Corliss Street church.
She is survived by her husband, their daughter, Abbie M., her sister, Mrs. Sidney Nason, of Brooklyn, and a brother, Fred S. Deering of Quincy, Mass."
