GISH - Ann Elizabeth, daughter of John J. and Ada Frances Root, was born Nov. 5, 1917, at Waynoka, Woods Co., Oklahoma, and departed this life Feb. 24, 1963, at her home in Whittier, Calif., at the age of 45 years, 3 months, and 19 days.
On July 31, 1943, she was united in marriage to , to which union one son, and one daughter, were born.
Elizabeth united with the Old German Baptist Brethren at the New River district, Whittier, Calif., in July, 1943, to which Faith she faithfully lived until called above. During her illness, which she so patiently born, she called for the elders of the Church and was anointed with oil in the name of the Lord.
Besides her companion and children, she is survived by her father, 4 sisters and 3 brothers, namely; 1 half brother, 1 half sister, ; 13 nieces; and 14 nephews.
Preceding her in death was her mother on Dec. 9, 1932 and one sister, Mina Andrews, on Feb 22, 1956.
Elizabeth's cheerful smile and kindness will be remembered by all who knew her.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 26, 1963, in Lanier's Colonial Chapel, Whittier, Calif., by the home brethren. After brief remarks by Elder Joseph Rumble at the graveside, the body was laid to rest in the Olive Grove Cemetery adjoining the New River church.
