Gender Female
Birth[1] 8 Feb 1823 Gorseinon, Llangyfelach, Glamorganshire, S-Wales
Marriage 25 Nov 1843 Cowbridge, Glamorganshire, S-Walesto Evan Jenkins
Death[2] 14 Feb 1905 Newton, Cache, Utah
Burial? 19 Feb 1905 Farmington, Davis, Utah

BIRTH: The birth location is written as Gorsynon, Gorsenon and Corseinon on different records; Gorseinon is the correct spelling.

A letter (dated 22 March 1881) written to Ann Davies Jenkins from her sister Amelia Davies Walters mentions the sisters: Anne, Margaret, Ruth, Charlotte and Amelia. It records Margaret's death as 26 January 1881. It also says "all the old people at Gorseinon have died" and mentions Bill Lewis and Rachel and Mary their sisters. The two William Hopkins are living but none of the sisters. The original letter is in the Pioneer Memorial Library at B.Y.U. A xerox copy is in my possession.

A copy of Ann's patriarchal blessing is in my possession (in my Book of Remembrance). It was given on 15 February 1865 in Farmington, Utah. Original is in the LDS Church Archives. It records her birth as 8 February 1823 in Crossinen, Wales, but errors are also made in the spelling of family names-- Ann is listed as the daughter of John DAVES and Saraha.

As to whether or not Ann's maiden name was DAVIES or DAVIS, Davis is written on her death certificate, but DAVIES is written on her father's death certificate. Vivian Blanchard, a descendant wrote, "We were on a trip to Australia and got to be friends with a couple from Wales. I told them that I had ancestors from Wales and they asked who. I told them Ann Davies. I said it the way I thought we say Davies. He said, "You don't say it Davies, You say it Davis even though it is spelled Davies. I think that when they told the recorder who they were they probably said Davies (spoken Davis) because that seems to be what the Welch people think it is. He said many people who have moved to America have changed the spelling so people will say it right."

The middle name of "Elizabeth" comes to me from a pedigree chart sent by Lilace Jenkins of Idaho Falls, Idaho.
