Mrs. Ann Eliza Bronson, who died at No. 46 Bond St. on Wednesday, belonged to an old New York family. Her father was Theodorus Bailey, a well known New Yorker. Mrs. Bronson was born in this city, about 1798. As a young woman, she was a reigning society belle, and very accomplished. She married the late Arthur Bronson, and lived all of her life and widowhood in the house where she died. She was left a widow some thirty years ago, and since that time devoted much of her wealth to charitable objects. She was an active member of the Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Bronson had been an invalid for the past five years, although she had been able to go about. She leaves two sons, one daughter and a niece, Miss Catherine Cecil Wolsley, who is also her adopted daughter. Her son Arthur married Miss de Kay, a granddaughter of Joseph Rodman Drake and is now living in Venice with his family; her son Theodore married a daughter of Bishop Wainwright, and her only daughter married Mr. John J. Townsend, a lawyer of this city.
