Came to Spring Creek, WV in December, 1832. His father was a soldier of the War of 1812 and his grandfather, Abraham Vandale, saw service in the Revolution. When the first court of Roane County was held at the home of M.B. Armstrong in April 7, 1856, Andrew was chosed as the first constable of the county. Elected Sherriff in 1870 (several terms) and, after an interlude again in 1888. Elected to the House of Delagates in 1879. References
