He married Jane Adair in Kirkmaiden, Wigtown, Scotland 18 Dec 1760. Family legend says that Andrew McCutcheon came to America, sailing from Glasgow in the family sloop which was probably sold in NYC. My mother (writer unknown) remembers seeing the ship's log book when she was a girl and hearing stories about certain items of china and silver owned by her mother's sister that were said to have come from Scotland. It is thought that the McCutcheon and Robertson family knew each other in Scotland. Andrew was a Private in the Revolutionary War from NY State.
