M. Armstrong & V. M. Stahle p. 231. "On 18 April 1876, Ancel Hatch, Meltiar's youngest brother, married Phebe Noressa Brown (Mantle). Ancel was thirty-six when he married. He had been a traveler for many years. He fulfilled two missions with his team and wagon, helping immigrant trains cross the plains. He is also known to have ridden his horse `Sol' down into Mexico, probably looking for places for members of the church to colonize. He made several trips into Idaho for that purpose, one of the locations in Idaho being Montpelier." |
