FATHER-MARRIAGE: "Harrison County Marriages - 1785-1894," FHL 975.457 V2c, page 6: "Muirhead, George; Thomas, Amy, d/o Aron; 23 Apr 1793." NOTE: This would be in conflict with Evan being her father, though an error in transfer of data could have been made. [Note from Cynthia Nielsen: I do not see "d/o Aron" on that image. See above]

PARENTS-SIBLINGS-MARRIAGE: FHL Film #163830 [end of film], Guy Tetrick Harrison County History Collection: "Amy m 4/ /1793 Geo Muirheid Jr. [sp?]. This record was compiled 7/15/1928. Sources of data Anderson Corbin, Boothsville, WVa." NOTE: This is the only source which Jan Hornick has located from earlier records that reports a daughter for Evan Thomas and Lydia Dyke/Dike named Amy and spouse Geo. Muirheid, Jr. [Sp.?] The FHL book 975. , Harrison County Marriages, reports the marriage of Amy Thomas, d/o "Aron" to George Muirhead on 23 Apr 1793. Is the original name "Evan" and not "Aron?"

ALSO NOTE: On 13 Jan 2001 Vince O'Shaughnessy wrote, "I have read with considerable interest the information you provided World Connect on the two Evan Thomas's that lived at one time in Harrison County VA. I have been searching for information on the parents of Amy Thomas. She is one of my gggg-grandmothers. She married George Muirhead on Apr/23/1793 in Harrison County, VA. Her marriage bond was signed by her father Evan Thomas. I have the marriage bond of Cynthia Thomas's marriage to Alfred Freeman signed on Dec/30/1816 by her father Evan thomas. The two Evan Thomas signatures are identical. I have a copy of the marriage document between Evan Thomas and Sara Booth. This Evan's signature is different than the ones on Cynthia and on Amy's bonds. The only other mention I have ever found on Amy is located in the book, "Harrison County 1784-1995 Heritage Book". It states, "George the son married Rhuema (Amy) Thomas (daughter of Aaron) 4-22-1793." This book has the right marriage date, place and husband. My E Mail address is vposh@aol.com." On 14 Jan 2000 he wrote: "Several of us with common ancestors have been working together. Included is Peggy Wolfe from Clarksburg WV. Clarksburg is the County seat of Harrison County, WV. Her EMail address is POLE0117@ AOL.com. She has spent a lot of time at the Courthouse and at the local Library. Also included is Carole Richardson of Baltimore, MD. Carole and her sister have over the years collected a tremendous amount of information on our ancestors. Her EMail address Crsashmo@AOL.com." [Jan wrote to them that date and sent the above notes on Evan.] Carole wrote 9 Feb 2001: "The Harrison County Heritage book says that George and Amy went to Ohio shortly after the death of George Muirhead Sr. in 1812. I have a will that you can't read very well from Richland Co., Ohio for George Muirhead. He died in 1822. I tried getting someone to do lookups for me and they did send me some paperwork and a few copied bible pages. I will have to dig up the information and go over it again."

On 8 Feb 2001 Jan wrote to Vince regarding the copies of marriage bonds he sent

for Narcissus, Rebecca, Sintha/Cyntha, Amy and the bond for the "other" Evan Thomas' marriage to Sarah Booth: "It does appear to me that the signatures for Evan on his daughter Sintha/Cyntha's bond and on Amy's bond are very similar. I do see some, though less, similarity with Rebecca's bond. I would agree that the Evan Thomas signature on the bond for Narcissi and John Rogers appears quite different. It appears to me that Narcissi's brother George may have been acting in behalf of his father, Evan; thus possibly even signing for his father. I concur that the signature of the "other" Evan Thomas who married Sarah Booth is clearly different."
