From her baby book under "Babyhood Events": " Went in auto to Galesburg to see airship with Grandpa and Grandma West, Phyllis, Violet and Mamms." Then, the next entry is "Winifred's wedding in Oct. 1910.

Paper: Peoria Journal Star, The (IL) Deceased: Amy Swensrud Date: April 1, 2003 GALESBURG - Amy West Swensrud, 93, of Alpharetta, Ga., formerly of 562 N. Academy St., died at 6:07 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2003, at Ashton Woods Nursing Home in Atlanta, Ga.

Born Sept. 18, 1909, in Maquon to Walter and Alberta West Prall, she married Irving E. Swensrud on Sept. 9, 1936, in Clinton, Iowa. He died Nov. 9, 1994.

She also was preceded in death by one brother.

Surviving are one daughter, Barbara (and Kenneth) McCoy of Alpharetta; and one grandson.

A music teacher, she specialized in private piano and voice lessons. She was a graduate of Frances Shimer College in Mount Carroll and Mount St. Clair College of Music.

She was a member of Sigma Alpha Iota music sorority, PEO Chapter HO and served as an officer with the Knox-Galesburg Symphony.

She was a member of First Christian Church in Galesburg and its choir and also was a soloist.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Maquon Cemetery in Maquon. The Rev. David Kniker will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel.
