Amos was the first born child to William & Alyce (Skillings) Robinson in 1877 in Fayette Co., Iowa. The family moved to Minnesota before 1879 and lived there until about 1884. Then they moved to Bonesteel, South Dakota. Amos left South Dakota and traveled to Montana in 1896, at the age of 19 years. He traveled by horseback, leading a pack horse. When he arrived in Montana, he lived on Timber Creek, south of Saco, Montana. He returned to South Dakota and talked his father into returning to Montana with him. They lived on the homestead for a time and about 1910 Amos traveled to Canada where he met and married, Pearl Edna Remington. They lived there and had 4 children. Twins were born on October 30, 1916. Little Alyce Lorraine did not survive and died the same day she was born. In 1918, the family moved to Valley County Montana and lived South of Glasgow. They had 4 more children. Pearl became very ill due to ruptured appendix and then went into a diabetic coma. She died at the age of 32, leaving 7 children without a mother. The three younger children; Glenn, 5 yrs., Delia 3 yrs., and Carl, 8 months old, went to Canada to live with their grandparents, Jerome and Sarah Remington. Ethel was 8 yrs. old and was adopted by August & Anna Lund. Mable, 14 yrs., Clarence, 12 yrs. and Alma, 10 yrs. stayed with their father, or friends or relatives that would take them in. Amos married Pearl Elizabeth Werren Riley in 1929 in Buckley, Washington. Pearl passed away due to cancer on October 4, 1943. They had 2 children, Marvin, age 12 & Ruthie, age 10, at the time their mother passed on. Marvin was adopted by the Fossum family in Opheim, Montana. Ruthie lived with a foster family, Pete & Clara Eickson from 1945 to 1950, on a farm north of Glasgow, Montana. She moved to Wibaux, Montana and married in 1951. Amos traveled and lived with his older children until his death in 1954, due to emphysema.
