Historical Unadilla, pg. 21 - "An early settler in the Unadilla Center section of the town was a hardy New England Yankee in the person of Abel Holmes, who first located in what is now the town of Morris (Otsego Co., NY), but five years later, in 1809, came to Unadilla Center, built a log house and cleared up a farm with his nearest neighbor a mile away. His son, Amos, born in 1802, lived to be 95 years old and learned to ride a bicycle when 93. He lived in the village for a number of years before his death" References
