Amos Fox was born in Glastonbury, Connecticut on 8 Mar 1758. According to his Revolutionary War Pension claim #W. 25590, Amos enlisted from Glastonbury in December 1775 and served until January 1, 1977 in Capt. Elizur Hubbard's Company of Colonel Jedediah Huntington's Connecticut Regiment and was in the battle of Long Island. He enlisted again in August 1777 and served three months in a company commanded by Lt. Stephen Goodrich in Col. Thadeus Cook's Connecticut Regiment. He marched to Stillwater and tok part in the battle of Saratoga where Burgoyne was captured. He enlisted a third time in May 1778 and served three months as a private in Captain Benoni Smith's Company in Col. Enos' Connecticut Regiment. He enlisted again in 1781, at the time of the burning of New London, and served two months. He also served more than two years as a teamster under Captain Jabin Strong. He was awarded a pension of $8 per month starting on 24 April 1818. He died 14 Mar 1832 in Glastonbury. References
