From Biography of Amilia Knause Pembrook By Anita Struble from resorce material from Ethel Mae Livengood Struble. 

Amilia's mother passed away when Amilia was only 2 years of age. Her Father was a wealthy gold merchant.After this Aliia's Father and her came to the USA. As the story seems to imply Amilia's Fathers health was frail and he arrange for Amilia's care with a Swiss friend of his in Illinois. They agreed together that Amila would live with the Hartmans being clothed, fed, and educated which Amilia's Father paid a large sum. At 3 years of age Amilia's Father passed away and his wealth went to her guardian in trust till she was of age. But her guardian used the money to take care of his family and Amilia was their servant. 
At the time of her marriage 9 June 1869 there was a small amountg of her Father's trust to be a dowry.

Found Olaz Family in South Ottawa that may have been keeping Amelia and census has her listed with last name of Olaz. With another 2 year old child with a different middle name
