A Special from Kilgore, Texas, says: Amanda Stout, a white girl 18 years old, and a negro man by the name of Sylvester London were arrested here last Saturday, at the home of the negro's brother, on an order from the sheriff of Wood county, who says the girl and negro ran away from the home of the girl's father last Monday, taking with them a pocket book containing $20 belonging to the girl's father. The negro claims they were married after leaving home, but the girl denies they are married. They arrived in Kilgore on Tuesday, represented themselves as man and wife, and had been living as such ever since their arrival. The girl is rather prepossessing and of fair intelligence. She evinced very little concern on being arrested and said she wished to return home. Her father is Captain Henry Stout, of Wood county, an old Mexican [War] veteran, and the first sheriff that Wood county ever elected.
