Judge Alvah Day, of Deerfield,Portage,OH,USA, the oldest pioneer of that place. He was a native of CT, and went to Deerfield in 1799 with his father. They both returned to CT on foot soon after, and went back in 1800. He was the father of the first white child born in the Western Reserve (who is still living and had held positions of Sheriff and Judge
