Alice Grundy's parents are so far unknown. They apparently were from Lancashire and moved south to Cambridge or nearby. She had a brother John, who entered Pembroke College at Cambridge University 1557-8, received his B.A. in 1560-61, his M.A. from Saint John's in 1564, a B.D. in 1570 … He was of Gislingham when he died in 1608. He and his second wife, the widow Frideswide Smith, were married 21 January 1601/2 at Heigham, Norfolk. She died 1609/10. Both of their wills name many relatives. Alice also had a sister Margaret who married Hugh Wood, had children and died probably by 1606. A brother James had a wife Margaret, children, and died testate at Saint Andrew's parish, Norwich.
