George Morris, yeoman, of Mansfield Twp., to David Rockhill. 190.5 a. next to Joshua Smith, John Buffin, Thomas Curtice, Samuel Scattergood, purchased of Michael Buffin, his father-in-law, 7 Apr 1722. /s/ George Morris, his X. Recorded 23 May 1801. From Henry Beck's Will, 1715:(File # 575C)(p.575) "...and whereas my sone Jone Beck late deseased had rec. his full share of my estate in a plantation formerly conveyed to him by mee and as hee ye sd John Beck conveyed sd land to mee my heirs and assigns as may apear by certain deeds executed and where as it was intended yt I should reconvey ye same to him and his heirs and assigns as may appeare by a sertain obligation with acondition endorsed I therefore hereby authorize my loving wife Ann Beck as fully and amply as I my selfe could do if living uppon rect. of one hundred pounds acording to ye tru intent of sd agreemt to reconvay ye said land and premises to ye heirs of said John Beck aforesd-and to his heirs and assigns forever..." Men;s Minutes R.S. 98, pg 314 & ff. 1st 7mo 1737& 6th of 8th Mo 1737 and reported on 3rd of 9th Mo 1737 John Beck & Susanna Shreve declare their intentions of marriage with each other Hutchinson Mss. by Charles R. Hutchinson (at N.J. Hist, Soc., Newark, N.J.): Bk. 4, pp. 219-20:..."John Beck, son of Henry and Alice, dau. of ? and Alice (Taylor) Raworth, appears to have died about the time that his father made his will. He left a wife named alice and an infant son, who was also named John Beck. Letters of Administration 4-14-1715, were granted to Alice Beck upon the estate of John Beck, late of Mansfield, etc., Deceased." John Beck 3, was born about 1713. May 7, 1728, George Morris was appointed guardian of John Beck, an orphan of about 15 years. He married in 1737, to Susanna Shreve. He was constable in chesterfield in 1743. 10 Oct 1716 'John Beck, of Chesterfield, Inn-holder, and Susannah his wife' conveyed to 'John Page Jun:, of the same place, wheelwright' for -117. one certain piece or lot of land in the township of Chesterfield containing 2 1/4 acres; on the West side of the road that lyeth on the north side of Joseph Reckless's Mill, adjoining John Beck's house on the south side of it.
