  3. Source:Alden, Ebenezer. Memorial of the Descendants of the Hon. John Alden,p. 11, says with no examples or further elaboration, "Her name was sometimes written Alithea." Her gravestone says Else, clearly a variation of Alice. Her marriage record says Alice. There appears to be no birth record, but the deeds found in the MD magazine in various places all refer to her as Alice (Vol. 9, p. 147, 148, 149). Simple searching yielded nothing under the name Alithea Paddock. There is a somewhat-contemporary Alithea Alden who m. William Loring.
