    He immigrated with his parents abt. 1880. On 1880 census, age 15, with parents in Grimes, P olk Co., Ia.(ED 175, p 588C, fam #252/252) He continues with his parents on the 1885 Iowa State census, age 20.(Fam #125/127) Alexander, 35 and a farmer, is living alone on a rented farm in Webster, Polk Co., Ia. on the 1900 census.(ED 112, p 7B, fam #134/140) In 1910 Alexander, 45, is farming in Webster Twp., Precinct 1, Polk Co., Ia. Wife Sierra, 38, is caring for the children, including Flora's daughter, Mina M., 14. Sierra declares they have been married 9 years and she has born 5 children, four alive at this time. (Ed 184; p 6B, fam #59/59 ) On 1920 census, Grimes, Polk Co., Ia., age 55, Alexander is farming. Wife "Vada", 48, b. Nev., is caring for their children. Nevada declares that her father was born in N.C. and her mother born in Del.(ED 187, p 10B, fam #78/78) He is referred to as "Alec", and "Alex" in various records. We find in the family record that Alex and Nevada had a baby boy and baby girl who died in infancy besides the children named.
