His parents were Captain Myles and Barbara (______) Standish. Myles arrived on the Mayflower with his first wife, Rose and was a signer of the Compact. Myles was Military Commander of the United Colonies.

[Alexander Standish was primary heir in his father, Myles Standish's will.] "He received lands in Ormsticke, Borsconge, Wrightington, Maralsley, Wooburrow, Crawston, and the Isle of Man, which were detained from him; his great-grandfather being a younger brother from the house of Standish of Standish."
