    "We early hear of Alexander Rollo. as living at East Haddam Conn., where he had land granted to him by the original proprietors on March 5 (or 15), 1685. This land was afterwards laid out for his son William. Alexander Rollo had a £100 right in the lands at East Haddam at the time of the first division, which took place on June 2, 1688. He soon removed to Middletown, where he joined the First Congregational Church on July 18, 1697."
