Conway took a stand against the general government in the controversies which led to the Shays rebellion, and in April, 1782, voted "that the Inferior Court, at its last sitting at Northampton, did go contrary to the orders of the General Court and the County Convention." A committee was at once chosen to go to Northampton "to attend Upon the Supe- rior Court and to form a Convention." This committee con- sisted of the following persons: Samuel Wells, Samuel Ware ............Alexander Glover, ..................... ________________________________________________________________________ On 9/14/1801 Samuel Stocking of the city of Hudson, county of Columbia in the State of New York and Elizabeth his wife, sold land to Alexander Glover of the town of Conway, County of Hampshire, Commonwealth of Massachussets for $ 1500. The land was in Ontario Co in the town of Phelps, "lately known by number ten", part of lot #100 and the whole there of except such parts as were reserved by John Taylor from whom the said Samuel purchased and is not conveyed by this deed. book 9 pg 42 ______________________________________________________________________
