Description: Alexander's father, James Beatty was from the townland of Mullycar, county Tyrone, Ireland, it is therefore assumed that Alexander was born in this same place. The Cascade newspaer in Alexander's obiturary indicates that Cascade newspaper obituary shows Alexander Beatty Sr. was born in 1820moved to the United States in 1848. The 1850 census indicates that he was 26 in 1850 which figures he was born in 1824. The 1880 census indicates he was 55 which figures he was born in 1825

The Cascade paper article indicates that Alexander Beatty Sr. married Mary South in 1856 and she died 7 years before him. Mary died at age 59 years and 1 month and was born 5, April 1835. Therefore she died May 5th, 1894. Alexander Beatty Sr. therefore died in 1901. The Cascade paper indicates he was 80 years of age indicating birth in 1821.
