Aldis B. Churchill

Aldis B. Churchill, 74, died at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Robert Snyder of Rt. 1, Cortland, with whom he had made his home. He had been ill for the past 18 months.
Born Dec. 5, 1881 [1884], in Cortland, the son of Otto and Mary Jane Craft Churchill, he had been a resident of Cortland nearly all his life.
His wife, the former Grace Keichner, died May 25, 1915.
Mr. Churchill was a retired farmer and a member of the Cortland Methodist Church and the Cortland Grange. On March 24, 1954 he received a gold medal from the Cortland Grange for 50 years membership.
He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Ruth Snyder; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Bert Reiter [Ruiter] of Cortland, and a brother, Frank Churchill of Warren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Love Funeral Home, Cortland, and burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Cortland. There will be no calling hours.
