According to the Sallie DeWitt 1981 Genealogy, Adlai Steneson Baker was related to the famous statesman, Adlai Stevenson. Adlai Baker fought in France during WWI. He was said to be a brilliant intellectual, but not the most practical person. He was also known as an elegant statesman and very personable. He was an attorney for the United States Government, dealing with land management in Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. He "homesteaded" (lived?) in El Paso Texas, and later lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico until retirement.

He is interred at entombment Crypt 1032, Sunset Mausoleum, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
