Adam E Miller M.D., P.O. Rockbridge, was born in Cherokee County, Alabama, the 7th child of a family of fourteen children; born of Oliver and Rebecca Miller. they emigrated to this State in 1857, and located in Perry County; the Doctor received the rudiments of his education at the district school, then attended Shurtleff College two years, taking the scientific and select course; he having a desire to study medicine attended Rush Medical College until graduation, which dates Feb. 3, 1866; he then came to Sheffield, where he engaged in the practice of medicine, and has since continued. In 1875, he built a fine store building and started in the dry goods business, in connection with J. Keeley, which enterprise is a success; the Doctor has a good practice, and is making a success. In May 16, 1876, was married to Geneve Ludwig, who was born in Fremont, Ohio, February 15, 1853; they have had two children, but one now living --- Neva, born June 24, 1878. The Doctor is Democratic in sentiment, and of the staunchest kind; he is now W. M. of Sheffield Lodge A. F. and A. M., No. 678. (From "History of Greene County Illinois 1879" Page 686)
