    Col. A. R. Shacklett Dead

    Island, Ky., Aug. 27 --- Col. A. R. Shacklett, one of the most prominent men in McLean county, and well known throughout the State, died at this place to-day at the age of 84 years. Col. Shacklett had been blind since 1902. He served in the ranks during the Mexican war and was a veteran of the civil war in which he was a Colonel in the Confederate army.
