There seems to be no marriage record per se for Phoebe Harris. ONLY thing I have found so far is "Ency. of CT Biography, Vol 4 p 7. In fact, there is convincing evidence that he never married the d. Of Toleration Harris. Most interestingly, there is some evidence that me might have married a Harrington or Hamon, see the Notes for Abraham T born 1746 d 1820 in Maine.

Vital Recds of RI:

Md. Phebe Thornton Oct 11, 1747. Many kids with her.

I find estimates ranging from 1760-1770 for when this AT went to CT. In 1776, AT1744 enrolled in the Army from Glocester, RI. So he did not move with his possible father AT1725, but stayed with his grandfather in Glocester, or is it his father by Hannah Case? I think not, after inspecting the Will of AT b. 1698, which mentions only one son Abraham, the one born in 1725. His Will is in the Ct state library, and might well tell the story.

I have not written it up yet, but he and Phebe T are founders of a very successful CT family, with well known descendants, one being John Eaton Tourtellott, aide de camp to Sherman, and a very well known figure of the Civil War, born in CT but from a MN regiment.

This is a tree constructed from a variety of sources; some original work on New England, otherwise using NEHGS and other "respectable" sources. Medieval is from genealogics.org, (used as a check on) ancestry.com, and a few amendments from medieval genealogy -- soc.genealogy.medieval
