    "118. Abraham Hickox son of Capt. Samuel (32); born 11 January 1727/8; died 1777/8; … He died in the British Army.

    He left 10 January 1776, entered the British Army, was ordered south 1779, and finally killed in battle. He had been a deputy sheriff in Waterbury. His property improved for the State. Until recently a sum of money could have been obtained from Great Britain that was to have gone to Capt. Abraham and his heirs for his loyalty to the Crown. They never claimed it."
