"Abraham Fulford clothier was in Stratford, Conn. previous to 1700, where he married Phoebe daughter of James Clarke Sen. In 1700 they removed to Watertown, then part of Ancient Woodbury of which he was one of the proprietors, and established the first fulling mill in the colony, where he combed the wool, wove and fulled the cloth. He later returned to Stratford."
