[Note: no birth record has been found, either in Concord, Bedford, Stoughton, Canton or Dorchester, though this article says William did not move to the later area ["removed to ancient Dorchester where he bought land from the Puncapoag Indians in 1726 ... The land is in the Canton of today."] until 1726. This suggests the date might be a baptism as indicated by the Hartwell Handbook, the church records not being available online, explaining the difficulty confirming it.]
