Will of Thomas Bayes, dated Feb 14 1679-80, names "the children of my daughter Abigail deceased." In Land Records of Dukes County, a document dated March 16, 1696-97, Timothy Batt of Boston, cordwainer, son of Timothy Batt, of Boston, lately deceased, names, "my fathers estate" and "the legacy that was left me by my grandmother Bayes, of Martha's Vineyard, deceased."
Although no will has been found in the Edgartown probate office for Anna Bayes, the statement of Timothy Batt implies that Abigail married Timothy Batt Sr. and that Timothy Jr. is one of the "children of my daughter Abigail," as the other daughters of Thomas and Anna Bayes are accounted for. The date of this document indicates Anna Bayes died before 16 Mar 1696-97.
