!BIOGRAPHY: After the death of her husband in 1801, Abiel moved her family to Smith County, Tennessee, where she bought a farm for herself and her sons to work. She was not a poor widow, since she made sure each of her sons received 150 acres of land when they married and that her daughters received all the household items they needed when they married. She named sons in her will as: Jonathan, David, Charles, Elijah, Daniel, and John. Her daughters were given as: Polly Crafford- her heirs, Jerimah Jenkins, Unice Swift, Catherine Fitzgerald, Abigal Pritchett, and Ann Austin. She also named granddaughters Nancey and Abagail Crafford.
