[Note: original here. Context suggests this is 1687/88. The interpretation of the given name is questionable, a reasonable argument could say it is possibly "Lydiah" given the difficulty in reading it and the consistency of adult records giving Lydia.]

    Age.

  5.   Her given name was Abiah, but she went by Lidea.

Source:Bartlett, J. Gardner. Simon Stone Genealogy, p. 54, interprets the birth date as 1686/87, contrary to the apparent context as noted above, and concludes Abiah is a different child from Lydia since this interpretation makes the baptism about 16 months later.

Source:Nutt, Charles. History of Worcester and Its People, p. 687, says "Although her name was Abiah she was baptized Lydia, June 17, 1688."

NEHGR, Vol. 96, p. 376, in the article "Dr. Thomas Starr, Surgeon in the Pequot War, and His Family connections" by Hosea Starr Ballou, says Abiah married Jonathan Eaton, but never mentions the name Lydia, even though the baptism, marriage record, births of children, and gravestone give some form of Lydia.
