"Abiah's identity has long puzzled researchers." Many Abiahs have been eliminated, and Abiah, the daughter of Michael Pierce, b. abt. 1654, is the only one that is left that would have any connection with the Ford family. Abia Pierce is mentioned in the will of her father, Michael Pierce, dated 15 Jan 1675, but there is "no proof of what became of Abia Pierce". Abiah, the wife of Andrew Ford, died between 22 Mar 1721 (when she is mentioned in a letter written by her husband) and 8 Apr 1725 (when her husband's will was written with no mention of her).

  2.   Savage says of Hingham, 1646. Farmer locates him [Michael Pierce] in Scituate in 1647. In Scituate he purchased land in the Conihassett in 1647. His house was on the Cohassett Road, one mile from...the North Meeting House....
