Y.: Published by the Author 1882 Page 167 Capt. Abel Slocum (Abel 6, Samuel 5, Samuel 4, Ebenezer 3, Giles 2, Anthony 1) was born in North Kingstown Township, Rhode Island, 17 October, 1780, and married Phebe Ann Fenner, daughter of Obadiah and Susan (Barton) Fenner of Coventry, Rhode Island, where she was born 6 July 1785. He was a master-mariner, and later in life, a yeoman with residence new Pawtuxet, Rhode Island. They died-he, 12 April 1850; she, 11 February, 1862. (They had 12 Children 8 boys and 4 girls)
