[Note: the probate of the father names Aaron as the second son, making no mention of Jonas. The Chelmsford VRs give the birth of Jonas, making no mention of Aaron. (It is not surprising that Gordaon mentions Aaron and not Jonas, as he appears to study the probate records but ignore the VRs.) No death record for Jonas is found. They could be the same person, but given the four-year gap that would leave between births, it seems more likely that Jonas died and a separate son, Aaron, was just not recorded. Am Aaron Butterfield "of Chester" published intentions in Woburn in 1744, but it is not known if this was him, or anything else about Aaron beyond the mention in his father's probate.]
