Military Service

Alice Foster-Blevins notes that

John WALKER, married to Mary ANDERSON, was a soldier of the Revolutionary War born in the early 1700's. On September 20, 1789 he received two land grants, for a total of 275 acres on Meadow Creek in Greene County, Tennessee.

This is about the right time for someone to have received land in NC for Rev. War Service. A specific source for this is needed to confirm his service record.
