He had adress Røberg, Nordre Land, when he was married, but he should be from the area Leirskogen in Sør-Aurdal (South-Aurdal). (A neghbour municipality) In Leirskogen (and the rest of Sør-Aurdal) I only found one Lars with fathers name Hovel (or Håvård), and was born in 1794. This Lars was called Stube in 1843. Stube are not a norwegian name and I belive it shoud be Stuve. (I'm 90 % sure). I therfore made a new ancestor list. Why can I find this so easy ?. In 1997 the minicipality published a book "Boka om Land VIII, Nordsinni". I wrote all the names into software on my PC. Later, in 2002, they published "Boka om Land, IX and X, Torpa. (another part of Nordre Land). Many more names into my PC. Later I put in 3 books from municipality Etnedal (a neigbour municipality). After that, 4 books from Sør-Aurdal. I now have ab. 78.000 names in my database. Martin Laurits has surname Halla. I have called him that. It can be wrong, or right. In that time they used their fathers name. as Martin Laurits Hovesen. Martin and his family (and his parents, before him) lived on a small farm, Halla (Stuvehalla), a part of the farm Stuve in Nordsinni, Nordre Land. Sorry. but some of the text is in norwegian, with norwegian letter. Hope you have somebody to translate. I am not related to this family, but to many of the other names in the familytree. Best regards Einar

   Dear Einar,
Thank you very much for replying to my posting on RootsWeb. I would really appreciate any information you could send!
My paternal grandmother was Mathilde Stuve Moulton, eldest daughter of Martin Lauris Stuve and Adolphine Marie Anderson Stuve who lived in Wisconsin, USA. Martin and Adolphine met and married after he came to America.
Are you related to this family?
Again, thank you for your reply.
   Best regards,
   Rose M. Sellick
