My father was named Yellow Man and he was allotted on the Crow Creek Reservation, South Dakota. When he died he left a wife and her name was Mary Yellow Man, and she was known also as Eagle Feather Walks, Wamblisunmani, and Walks On It. Mary Yellow Man remained a widow from the death of Yellow Man until the day of her own death. I believe that she had been married to a man named Hodgkiss before she married Yellow Man, and that Hodgkiss died long ago and before Mary Yellow Man died. I have never heard that Mary Yellow Man was at any time married to any man other than Hodgkiss and Yellow Man.
