Edward Reeves Dies;
Funeral Rites Completed
Edward Karl Reeves, retired bookkeeper for the engineering department of the City of Monroe, died early Wednesday at his home, 324 Egan Street. He was 81.
Funeral services will be held at 2;30 p.m., Thursday at Gordon Avenue Methodist Church with Rev. W. M. Allen and Rev L. L. Yeager officiating.
Mr. Reeves had been a resident of Monroe since 1919. He was a charter member of the Gordon Avenue Methodist Church and had served as its first Sunday School superintendent.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Harriet Reeves; two sons, Edward Karl Reeves Jr. of Baton Rouge, and the Rev. Wallace Reeves, Monroe; one daughter, Miss Mabel Evelyn Reeves, Monroe; two brothers, Sam Reeves of Marion and M. O. Reeves, Monroe; and two sisters, Mrs. Ed Buckley of Ruston and Mrs. J. C. Allen of Marion.
