Rodney is the eldest grandson of William Barr Shearer. According to Rodney, during the second world war, his grandfather lived with them and was a surrogate father to Rodney while his father was overseas. In the course of my search for William Bar Shearer in Australia, I stumbled over Rodney's posting on the Western Australia Genealogical Society website. I contacted him and received updates on William Barr Shearer's descendants in Australia.
