Your timing is great. It is our anniversary today and with a card from my mum came some details that I had asked for. Here is what she provided: Anne O'Byrne was born in May 1885 in Kiltegan of County Wicklow. She died in Liverpool in January 1973. She married John Joseph Coughlan who was born in Limerick in May 1885 and died in October 1935. She did not give me a marriage date, but Kathleen (Stephen's mum) was born in July 1925. She has told me previosly that her dad was married before and his wife died. I am taking it from the way she has talked that they met and married in Liverpool. She is not sure but also thinks that her dad had a baby from the first marriage who went to live with his/ner mother's sister after her dad remarried. Not much was ever said about that.

Anne and John Joseph had Kathleen, Thomas born November 15 1926, my mum born March 24 1928 and a boy Vincent who was born in December 1929 but died in December 1930.

Anne O'Byrne's dad was a Patrick O'Byrne who also married an Anne. Mum is not sure of her maiden name. My grandmother was one of maybe 8 children. Patrick (who operated a farm or probably a small holding in Wiclow), Mary, Margaret, James, John, Michael and maybe a Bridget. I do know that at one point her uncle John owned or operated a pub in Dublin.

From what she says, on my dad's side his father was a John Edward (although at one point she thought it might be Henry) Taubman who married Esther Mitchell. Their children were John Edward, Stephen's dad Robert Henry, Thomas, Annie and my dad William who were twins, Mary and Theresa. Mary and Theresa both died in their teens.

My son Andrew is visiting the U.K., leaving tomorrow and will see my mum, so I will see if he can firm up some of the information. Thank you for the picture. How did you make the link with Edward? Thanks for keeping in touch. Vince
